I hear you breathe beside me, and sigh for life

Golden leaves grow around me, now I’m alive

I wish Autumn would sleep and show its grace

Wish Autumn leaves would fall, reveal your face

 –

Your face is there when I close my eyes

The rose that rests on your heart, it waits for mine

I wish I could rest against it, rest now and adore

I wish it were time, for the Autumn leaves to fall

 –

To show me the face I’m waiting for

 –

Autumn leaves are falling, I know you’re near

And when I sigh, it’s because I sense you, dear

Not here beside me, no

But the face and eyes that calm me

When I close my eyes, I know you’re near

Your eyes and me

Come Spring, it’s you and me

 –

I love you, I love you, eyes know I adore you

I love you, love you, eyes I fall for you

These Autumn leaves mean I’m close to you

 –

Autumn leaves are falling, I know you’re near

And when I sigh, it’s because I sense you, dear

Not here beside me, no

But the face and eyes that calm me

When I close my eyes, I know you’re near

Your eyes and me

Come Spring, it’s you and me

I’ve been hanging my hopes on a star

And a wish I made at five – so alive

I saw my future then though from afar

Right before my eyes – just truth, no lies

I was whole, if but for that moment

A warm hug there from above

Said all I’d wished for was beautiful

Made from innocence and love

And I want nothing but truth

For a life that is beautiful, with happiness too

And I want nothing but you

For a love that embraces me, like love should

And I want to reach you

I never pictured myself down here

Amongst the stars, that’s where I belong

There’s more waiting for me, I know

It is serendipity, it can’t be long

And I want nothing but truth

For a life that is beautiful, with happiness too

And I want nothing but you

For a love that embraces me, like love should

And I want to reach you

I’m hanging my hopes on that star

And that wish I made at five – so alive

My future’s here now, and before me a star

No time for standing still, time to fly afar

Yeah, time to be a star

And I want nothing but truth

For a life that is beautiful, with happiness too

And I want nothing but you

For a love that embraces me, like love should

And I want to reach you

Should I be just another dream, just another lonely bird?

Shouldn’t you be just a piece of me, not another lonely thought?

How can we be so ‘wonderfully’ together when it seems

that all I am is this lonely bird

My song, my story, my beauty, you can’t see.

How can I be this lonely bird

My song, my story, my beauty, you can’t see.

I sit alone with these thoughts, behind our bedroom door

Though you’re right here besides, my heart’s there on the floor

Is it worth wishing you’d hear this sad song of mine,

when my song you just can’t hear?

You’re here but not there, awake but not aware

You’re just not there for me

You just can’t hear, you just can’t see

How much you mean to me

I wish you could hear my lonely song

And then my love, then you’ll set me free

You just can’t hear, you just can’t see

How much you mean to me

I wish you could hear my lonely song

And then my love, then you’ll set me free

I try to fill this empty cage with you, sometimes

But you can’t feel a song you refuse to move to, this time

Loving a heart that’s blind to the ‘me’ that’s inside

I want to be true to myself, time to cross that tired faint line

I’ve been delicate for too long, besides –

Yeah you just can’t hear, you just can’t see

How much you mean to me

I wish you could hear my lonely song

And then my love, then you’ll set me free

Yeah you just can’t hear, you just can’t see

How much you mean to me

I wish you could hear my lonely song

And then my love, then you’ll set me free

I don’t want to be another lonely bird

I need love or set me free.

If you can’t hear my lonely song, my dream,

Then maybe my love, just maybe

Our love’s not meant to be.
